Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula)

The male Baltimore Oriole is a striking bird. We have many on our farm currently. Some are just passing through, many will stay for the summer. They frequent my feeding area with oranges and grape jelly.

Summer Tanager (Piranga rubra)

We seem to have a larger number of these beautiful birds on our farm this year. I put out oranges and grape jelly for them.

Hummingbird feeding on False Blue Indigo

My tall grass prairie areas that were burned or mowed last fall are full of false blue indigo and Indian paint brush. The humming birds fly from flower to flower feeding. It warms my heart.
