Flamingo (Phoenicopterus missourienses plasticus)

Flamingo (Phoenicopterus missourienses plasticus), a rare sighting on our farm.   Libby does some “babysitting” intermittently.   They like to swim in the pool and check the bird nest boxes.   Libby imported this bird for “camp Libby”.

We keep a few hummingbird feeders near our back porch so we can enjoy them, but they have lots of flowers to feed on, and I see them in the fields regularly.

Summer Tanager (Piranga rubra) June 9,2016

From a distance, a Summer Tanager might be confused for a Northern Cardinal, but they have no crest.    I saw this guy in my lower field this evening.
