Tree Frog on Arrowhead

I think this is a grey tree frog, but I am not sure.    The plants around the frog ponds are covered with little frogs this time of year.

Ruby Throated Hummingbird feeding on False White Indigo

We keep a few hummingbird feeders near our back porch so we can enjoy them, but they have lots of flowers to feed on, and I see them in the fields regularly.

Red-Winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoneniceus)

These birds like to hang out and nest near our frog ponds.   One of their calls is a loud “Conk-a-reee”.

Summer Tanager (Piranga rubra) June 9,2016

From a distance, a Summer Tanager might be confused for a Northern Cardinal, but they have no crest.    I saw this guy in my lower field this evening.
