Indigo Bunting (Passerina cyanea)

Indigo Bunting (Passerina cyanea)

The Indigo Bunting is a summer resident of our farm.  I took this picture yesterday.   They generally like fields and open woods.   This guy was on a branch on an old walnut tree right by our house.    The males of this species often will sit on the the highest perch in an area and sing vigorously.
